Ahuwai Consulting was founded by Macky Horotini, a highly accomplished environmental planner with over 15 years experience working in New Zealand's resource management system. With extensive experience in the planning process, policy development and stakeholder engagement, Macky brings a deep understanding of te ao Māori and the importance of those values in resource management. After working with leading organisations such as Waikato Regional Council, Taupō District Council, and the Ministry for the Environment, Macky recognised the need for a consultancy that could integrate Māori values into environmental planning.
